Home : Green Tea : Pi Lo Chun Green Teas : Pi Lo Chun 1st Grade | |
Ten Tea'sSM Pi Lo Chun (Bi Luo Chun, Bi Lu Chun) has leaf-buds picked during the earlier part of the harvest season. Therefore, they are the first fruits and youngest of the annual Pi Lo Chun crop.
When infused, one will notice that they contain almost no broken leaves which reflects the meticulous effort and care to produce this fine grade. The steeped tea has a very light yellow-green hue and its aroma is very unique with a light apricot scent. It has a light sweet and fresh taste with a lasting pleasing aftertaste that seems to get stronger after some time.
The water used to steep this tea should be about 175-195°F or 80-90°C. Use about 1 tablespoon (3 grams) of tea leaves for about every 5 ounces (150 ml) of water. A steeping time of about 2-3 minutes with more or less time is recommended depending on the desired concentration. As a rough guide, the higher the temperature of the water or the greater the amount of leaves used, the shorter the steeping time should be. To enjoy the tea leaves falling like snowflakes, fill a clear glass or ceramic cup with hot water and then add the Pi Lo Chun tea leaves.
Net tea weight is 4 ounces (113.4 g) and shipping weight is 0.28 lb. Temporarily out of stock.
