This Jasmine tea is named for its blossoming or blooming characteristic. Each Jasmine Blossom is comprised of fine quality green tea hand assembled and sewn together at one end, resembling a sphere. When the tea is steeped, the green tea leaves gradually blossom revealing a cluster of pink flowers perched atop a sphere of tea. The tea has a pale yellow hue with a pleasant and sweet floral aroma. The taste is smooth and sweet with a lightly sweet aftertaste. A glass teapot or cup such as our Loose Tea Steeper that is pictured is highly recommended for full appreciation of this tea.
The water used to steep this tea should be about 160-180°F or 70-80°C to prevent scalding the leaves. Use about one sphere for about every 5 ounces (150 ml) of water. A steeping time of about 3-5 minutes is recommended with more or less time depending on the desired concentration. This tea may be infused 3 or more times. Net tea weight is roughly 4 ounces (113.4 g) for approximately 16 tea spheres. Shipping weight 0.29 lb.
