 This green tea has a special blossoming or blooming characteristic. Each osmanthus Blossom is comprised of fine quality green tea hand assembled and sewn together with the distinct petals of the osmanthus flower, a flower famous for its aroma. When steeped, the green tea leaves gradually blossom, revealing red flowers with orange osmanthus petals floating to the surface. The flowers resemble a swirling cloud of osmanthus. The tea has a yellow hue with a pleasant light floral aroma. The taste is smooth with a lightly floral aftertaste. A glass teapot or cup such as our Loose Tea Steeper that is pictured is highly recommended for full appreciation of this tea.
The water used to steep this tea should be about 160-180°F or 70-80°C to prevent scalding the leaves. Use about one sphere for about every 5 ounces (150 ml) of water. A steeping time of about 3-5 minutes is recommended with more or less time depending on the desired concentration. This tea may be infused 3 or more times. Net tea weight is roughly 4 ounces (113.4 g) for approximately 16 tea spheres. Shipping weight 0.29 lb.
